In 1887, Josef Lang founded a carpentry workshop in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, laying the foundation for today’s Hammerbacher GmbH. Since 1980, Hammerbacher GmbH has specialized in the production of office furniture and develops all products in-house. Since then, the company has evolved into a highly innovative and service-oriented business group that has continued to grow even during economic crises in Germany. The company’s headquarters, with 60 employees and an 8,000 m² logistics center, is located in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz near Nuremberg.

Hammerbacher is the first German office furniture manufacturer to supply furniture exclusively according to the FSC environmental standard. The Forest Stewardship Council is an independent international organization focused on responsible forest management. All wood used by Hammerbacher comes exclusively from sustainable and ecologically responsible forestry.
