High visibility jackets von von HELLY HANSEN
Helly Hansen was founded in 1877 and has since become an institution in the market. Captain Helly Juell Hansen started the company after a long, challenging sea voyage during which proper protective clothing was lacking to withstand the harsh ocean conditions. He began producing linen clothing and treated it with waterproof linseed oil. By impregnating the linen fibers with this water-repellent oil, Helly Hansen created the first classic oilskin and became a pioneer in water-repellent protective clothing.
In the first five years, Helly Hansen Workwear sold 10,000 units. The success of the innovative oilskin and functional clothing continued. By the mid-20th century, the precursor to waterproof laminates had been invented, and in the 1980s, the waterproof and breathable Helly Tech membrane marked another milestone. Later, modern PVC materials replaced the oil treatment and paved the way for an unparalleled career: in 1962, Helly Hansen Workwear was the first to introduce fleece garments. The lightweight fabric is easy to clean, retains warmth, and is excellent for outdoor use. Innovations like insulated seams and the development of synthetic pile fabrics have made the Norwegian brand one of Scandinavia’s leading functional clothing manufacturers.
Helly Hansen's ideas simplify everyday life for those working regularly in demanding conditions, such as at sea or in industry. Helly Hansen Workwear is designed to meet the specific needs of various professions, offering protection against cold, moisture, and occupational hazards. Visual safety elements also help ensure safe movement throughout the workday. The durable and rugged workwear is suitable for a wide range of applications. Helly Hansen garments are worn and trusted by professionals at sea, in the mountains, and on construction sites. Helly Hansen workwear has become established wherever efficiency, safety, and protection are top priorities.
