The tradition of LOWA dates back to 1923, when Lorenz Wagner opened a workshop in Jetzendorf, Bavaria, where he crafted high-quality shoes from oat-tanned leather and sewn with goat thread. Mountain and ski boots soon became a great success, followed by hiking, walking, and leisure shoes. Today, the range also includes specialty shoes such as hunting boots.
